Masterclasses

Being an excellent and innovative teacher is what lets ECIU universities stand apart. Therefore, the ECIU each year runs an award programme for outstanding educators from each ECIU institution. This Masterclass for Excellent Education offers a platform for discussing innovative teaching and for learning and collaboration focused on improving personal competences of the participants. Participants can share their teaching experiences with each other and learn more about state of the art developments in teaching science of the hosting university. Besides, recognized experts of the specific topic attend the Masterclasses in order to share his/her ideas and discuss future developments and challenges with the participants.

1st ECIU Masterclass on Entrepreneurial Teaching and Learning, University of Twente, 3-4 April 2014

On April 3 and 4, 2014 the University of Twente hosted the first ECIU Masterclass on Teaching & Learning. The subject was Entrepreneurial Education and the participants have enjoyed an exciting programme. The video clip provides testimonials from three participants, the chairman and the coordinator.

2nd ECIU Masterclass on University-Industry Collaboration, University of Aveiro, 9-10 April 2015

Following the success of the 1st ECIU Masterclass for outstanding educators, which gathered outstanding international educators for two days of stimulating and thoughtful discussion on Entrepreneurial Teaching and Learning, the 2nd ECIU Masterclass has taken place in Portugal, at the vibrant University of Aveiro, from 9th to 10th April 2015!

4th ECIU Masterclass on Design Thinking and Problem Based Learning as an innovative learning strategy, Lodz University of Technology, 19-20 September 2016

This year Lodz University of Technology (TUL) hosted the ECIU Masterclass on Entrepreneurial Teaching and Learning for outstanding educators. Recognized experts on the topic participated in the Masterclasses to share ideas and to discuss future developments and challenges with other participants.

Masterclass in simulation-based learning

The masterclass introduces and demonstrates how simulation-based learning can be used in higher education, and the potential student learning outcome this pedagogical method offers. The masterclass is being conducted in collaboration between University of Stavanger, Stavanger University Hospital and SAFER simulation centre.

MSc Nanotechnology

This Double Master Programme between the University of Twente and Lodz is an internationally oriented programme and is taught entirely in English. You can start in September or February. The two-year MSc programme in Nanotechnology focuses on the design, creation and study of functional materials, structures, devices and systems by directly controlling matter on the nanometre scale. Nanotechnology is a multidisciplinary field, focusing on structures ranging from 1 to 100 nanometres. This emerging field brings together elements from traditional disciplines such as applied physics, chemistry, electrical engineering and biology.

Several ECIU universities have developed Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). MOOCs are web-based classes which are open to any person who wants to take a course.
